Michael L. Dunn, MD, FAAFP

Michael Dunn, MD, a board certified family physician, started at Foothills Family Practice (FFP) in 1994, taking over its ownership in 1997. Since graduating from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1981, he has practiced Family Medicine in Taos and full-time Emergency Medicine in New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Colorado from 1989-1994. His experiences as a patient, as well as his medical practice background have shaped his vision of high-quality care in acute and chronic settings. Foremost among his goals is to have patients come to Foothills understanding that we provide them a real “medical home”.
Dr. Dunn is an avid reader, enjoys running (although calling it “running” at this stage of life maybe optimistic) and music – especially folk, bluegrass and blues. He aspires to play guitar and mandolin (even takes lessons), and plays with “the family band” at get-togethers.
He and his wife, Terry (also a physician), have been volunteers with a group based in the US and have made six trips to rural Kenya to donate their time and medical expertise. They feel fortunate that their three (semi-) adult children remain fairly close to home so far. Denver has been home to the Dunns since 1991 and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
